"The most important resource of the TriUniversity Group of Libraries is its staff. It is their expertise, dedication and commitment to service that have made the collaboration both possible and successful."
- The University Librarians

TUG PRINCIPLES
“Life is much less a competitive struggle for survival than a triumph of co-operation and creativity.”F. Capra

The expansion of access to library resources and the efficiency of access to these resources substantially enrich the processes of scholarship in our universities. Current fiscal constraint requires that we explore all forms of co-operative activity with a view to achieving efficiencies.

  1. Service principles
“I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve.” - Albert Schweitzer

The TUG Collaboration aims to provide:

    1. Easy access to each others collections and services
    2. User-friendly desktop access to networked information on campus, in the workplace and from home
    3. Client-centred training services

  2. Business principles
“The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.” N. Henderson

To sustain service goals TUG will:

    1. Prepare development plans to deliver agreed upon levels of service
    2. Have a clear and agreed concept of our core business
    3. Optimize human and financial resource investment through sharing common technical and administrative infrastructure, when feasible
    4. Ensure, where practical, that the infrastructure facilitates access to public and private sector providers of educational products and services
    5. Maintain a healthy balance between collaboration and independence
    6. Define models for life cycle investment costs to sustain the infrastructure
    7. Develop and maintain appropriate cost-sharing models
