Books
In TRELLIS, but not in my home library [UG patrons click here] [UW faculty, graduate students, and staff click here]:

Use the request item from TRELLIS button in TRELLIS to place a Hold or Recall on a book.

  • To make a request, first display the record of the item you want.
  • You now need to check the status of the item. If status line reads: "In Library," and the book is at a TriUniversity Group library (including the Annex) other than your "home" library, you would request a Hold. If the status is "On Loan," you need to request a Recall.
  • Note:  For items with "Order status: Item received. To borrow, Request a Hold or inquire at a circulation desk," processing takes up to 5 business days. This extra time is required to allow for the item to be rush catalogued.
  • Next, click on the "request item from TRELLIS" button at the top of the screen. In the text boxes provided, enter the barcode number from your university ID card and your last name. Click "OK."
  • Now select Hold or Recall based on the item's status. Click "OK."
  • On the next screen, re-enter your barcode number. You may provide comments about the request. You must select a pick-up location. You can also change the number of days for the request to stay active. Finally, click "OK."
  • If you wish to cancel any of your requests, you may do so by going to your Patron Info area, and then to the Request Information area of your record.
  • After you are finished making requests for items be sure to click Exit TRELLIS especially if you are using a public machine.
