Mark Dotzert

Mark Dotzert has worked as a Systems Analyst, at the Waterloo Regional Library, for the past 10 years. During this time Mark has overseen the creation of WAN for 10 rural libraries plus a headquarters branch; the installation of an online DRA-MultiLIS library system; and full Internet access for both public and staff. In 1997, Mark was involved in a project whereby steps were taken to create a wireless WAN that not only encompassed 11 rural sites but local rural government as well. The completion of the Waterloo Regional Community Network occurred in the first half of 1998 with a total of 16 sites networked together in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo with access speeds of up to 2MB per second. Mark has also worked as an independent consultant for other rural and city libraries in Ontario, assisting them in the design and implementation of their networks.
